In 1973, Patrick Durr, Bruce Johnson, and Michael Lingg combined their diverse musical histories to “play a little music over the summer” in their hometown of Modesto, California. That summer has stretched into decades of fun, friendship, and musical creativity. They chose the name Home Grown to represent their local roots and capture the earthiness of their acoustic music, with vocal harmonies as their cornerstone. Planning to have just a “little fun” over a single summer, they chose music from a wide variety of styles. Their own songs reflect a spectrum of influences, remaining dedicated to acoustic instruments and tight harmonies. Music starts at 6:00 pm. Don’t forget to put your chairs out early in Eproson Park as this is one of Twain Harte’s favorite groups.
